Gibson Law, PC is a full service Southern California real estate and business litigation law firm conveniently located in the San Fernando Valley off the 101 freeway in Woodland Hills, California. Our offices are in Warner Center. In practice since 1983, we have an AV-rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating possible for ethics and ability. We represent buyers, sellers, lenders, developers, brokers, contractors, landlords, tenants and any one else involved in real estate transactions, either residential or commercial.

Most of our practice involves litigation in California Superior Court or in U.S. District Court. We practice in all areas of California, as well as taking some cases in Arizona, Nevada and other states. We also handle mediations and arbitrations. We have won a number of seven figure and six figure verdicts and settlements for plaintiffs, as well as defense verdicts for defendants. We also assist clients with drafting contracts, leases, partnership agreements and other transactional matters.

We do not charge for initial client inquiries. If you come to us with a problem, we will discuss it with fully, by telephone, e-mail or in person, whichever is most convenient. We will give you a full assessment of your legal situation, as well as a range of alternatives, and an estimated budget for each of them. If you become a client, we will have a written agreement, clearly setting out what we will do and what it will cost. You will never be surprised by the amount of our bills.

Like most law firms, we charge by the hour, or, in the appropriate case, on a flat fee basis. We do not accept cases on contingency.

Our philosophy is to keep clients fully informed at all times. Before we take your case, we will give you a candid assessment of its strengths and weaknesses. You will receive copies of all documents which we produce in your case, or which we receive from other parties. You will always have your attorney’s cell phone number and-email address; we answer all client calls on the same day, and we try to answer them the same hour.

The principal of our firm is Rick Gibson. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was educated at Princeton University, the University of Chicago and the University of California, Santa Cruz, from which he has a B.A. with honors in American history. He is a 1983 cum laude graduate of the University of Santa Clara Law School. Prior to founding his own firm, he was associated with a number of major international law and banking law firms in San Francisco and Los Angeles, including Graham & James and Frandzel & Share. Mr. Gibson is a frequent writer on legal topics. He has published articles in The American Bankruptcy Law Journal, the California Bankruptcy Law Journal, the California Real Property Law Journal and the Ventura County Star. A father of three, he is active in politics in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County.
